ATTENDANCE AND GRADING POLICY
YEAR 2003 – 2004
Minimum Yearly
Requirement
Hours: 144
Grade
Average 70%
This course consists of 156
hours of instruction during the entire year. In order to satisfactorily
pass the year, the student must obtain a total of at least 144 hours and a
grade average of at least 70% by the end of the year. The student may not
exceed 6 hours of absences in a row. A student with less in either hours or
grade will be required to repeat the entire year.
Students will receive a
letter of completion at the end of the year only, but are entitled to
updates from the instructor. Attendance and grade reports will be submitted
to the State Plumbing Bureau mid-way through the year and at the completion
of the year. Students who have dropped may have their apprentice licenses
in jeopardy. Students are still required to submit their completion
certificate to the State at the end of each year.
Work Related Absences
Up to 12 additional hours of
absences due to out of town work related issues may be credited to
the student if the following procedure is strictly followed:
1. The
Contractor will contact Ed Howland at 658-0234 or
863-8669, at least one week in advance of the absence.
2. Ed will
determine if the absence is due to legitimate work related issues.
3. Ed will
contact the instructor and obtain lessons that must be completed by the
student while gone and returned to the instructor at the first class back
after the absence.
4. No more
than a total of 12 hours will be allowed during the year, and no more than 6
hours in a row (2 classes).
5. If the
hours are going to exceed this maximum, the Contractor
must contact Ed and apply for approval for the student to complete work
during this time through the correspondence program.
Make-up’s
Prohibited except as stated
previously for out of town work related issues and certain emergency
circumstances such as serious medical issues, military leave, death in the
family, etc.
